The last of the holiday gift guides are here and this time, it’s all about gifts under £25! Starting from £9.99, these are presents you can put under the tree, in a stocking, or give for Secret Santa. I hope your friends love them.
*A disclaimer: the products mentioned may not suit everyone’s budget or taste but they’re gifts I’d give to my family and friends and things I’d personally love to receive.
Now, starting with a good one..
Sequence is a board & card game hybrid that’s utterly addictive and can be enjoyed by the whole family. It requires a bit of tactical thinking which you’ll develop with time so chances are, you won’t be able to put it away over the holidays. Get it from Amazon for £19.99.
The Element Clay Studio (probably my favourite seller on Etsy) make beautifully textured ceramics inspired by the sea. Their handmade Small Scallop Bowls go for £20.43 and can be used as salt cellars, condiment dishes, jewellery holders – you name it.
This pocket sized, gold-gilded Five Year Memory Book from One Line A Day (£11.99) is a lovely present for those who like to self-reflect. Each page is designed to contain five years’ worth of memories from a single day, making it easy to look back on what you were up to in previous years.
Toast: The Cookbook (£11.21) is all about turning a humble slice of bread into something glorious. There’s a recipe in this book for everyone but if you’re wondering what my favourites are, it’s gotta be Dutch apple pie toast, sesame and honey-barbecue fried chicken toast, and burnt sugar and coconut ice-cream toast. I mean come on.
For those who love to travel, the Scratchables Scratch Map Gold Edition (£13.99) is a cool way to tick places off the old bucket list. The black and gold-foil combo means it’s pretty enough to hang on the wall and makes for a great conversation starter.
Hotel Chocolat’s Winter Desserts Sleekster (£22) features 27 chocolates inspired by festive puddings like apple strudel, gingerbread and mince pies. Yum!
Sticking with the chocolatey theme, the award winning Cocoa Gin by Hotel Chocolat makes a fun gift that can be put to good use on Christmas Day. £25 for a 500ml bottle and £15 for 250ml.
It’s the best-selling album of 2015 and for very good reason. If by chance the person you’re buying for doesn’t already own it, Adele’s new album: 25 is a gift that keeps on giving for £9.99.
My movie pick for this gift guide has to be Kingsman: The Secret Service (£6.99). There were so many great films out this year but this is the one I enjoyed the most. It’s got action, comedy, plenty of witty one-liners and a storyline with more twists than a roller-coaster. Not to mention a stellar cast, with Colin Firth on top of his game in a role you’d never imagine him playing, plus the legend Michael Caine, a villainous Samuel L. Jackson, and a newbie worth watching, Taron Egerton. Check out the trailer above.
Something for the boys
How adorable are these Beardy Mugs by Urban Graphic? They even have names: Hubert and George. Take them home for £20.
I love the oxblood red in this Burgundy Woven Scarf from Next (£24). Its oversized design means it’ll do a good job of keeping you toasty this winter.
Joop! Homme is my husband’s longstanding fragrance and dear lord, it smells so good. Bergamot and cinnamon are combined with amber, vanilla, tonka beans and musk to create a sensual fragrance that’s perfect for evening wear. Boots are doing an incredible half price deal at the moment where the 75ml bottle is £20, down from £40. Get it quick.
On a side note, I’d recommend this fragrance for the younger lads in your life. For an older gent, try The Scent by Hugo Boss. It’s also delicious.
Something for the girls
West Elm’s Nesting Trinket Boxes (£15) are great for storing jewellery on your nightstand. The glass interiors let you show off your pieces but keep them organised at the same time.
These Daisy Street Sleepy Sheep Slippers (£11.99) from Asos are as cute as a button and are a lovely colour.
The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Skincare Collection (£22) features three products from their best-selling skincare line including the Cream Cleanser, Overnight Serum-in-Oil, and Moisture Cream. This kit is especially suited for those with sensitive, acne-prone skin or mature skin.
Last but not least is the Must-Have Hand Cream Trio from L’Occitane (£22). This festive box of goodies includes full sizes of the Shea Butter, Almond Milk and Cherry Blossom hand creams; all beautifully packaged and travel-friendly.
