Christmas is exactly one month away! And that means it’s time to get presents sorted before the last-minute panic sets in. I love present shopping. It’s probably what I look forward to the most apart from Christmas day itself. If you need a bit of help finding something for the ladies in your life, here’s a little gift guide to give you some inspiration.
*A disclaimer: the products mentioned may not suit everyone’s budget or taste but they’re gifts I’d give to my family and friends and things I’d personally love to receive.
So go on. Have a scroll!
All things bath & beauty
There’s something extra special about a big red box with a bow on top under the Christmas tree. This Ayurveda Collection gift set from Rituals (£38.50) is beautifully packaged and full of rose, honey and sweet almond scented goodies. It includes a Himalayan salt body scrub, a Yogi Flow shower foam, a Honey Touch body cream and a Chakra Water bed and body mist.
This is the gift of glorious baths! Laura Mercier’s Ambre Vanille Luxe Body Collection (£49) includes heavenly-scented pots of the Souffle Body Creme and the highly coveted Honey Bath (which comes with an adorable wooden honey dipper), a Body Cleansing Oil and a 15ml Eau de Toilette. This kit is one of my absolute faves.
I can’t rave enough about Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate; a cult beauty classic hailed as a miracle skin treatment. A few drops of this overnight oil under regular night cream will clear and prevent blemishes, plump up and rehydrate the skin.
I recommend this to all my friends, especially those who struggle with acne. It’s bloody expensive but a little goes a long way and a bottle should last you the best part of a year.
For £44.50, the Kiehl’s Essentially Yours gift set contains a 30ml bottle of Midnight Recovery Concentrate (usually £36 just on its own), an Ultra Facial Cleanser, an Ultra Facial Moisturiser and a mini Daily Reviving Concentrate.
This one’s for high-end beauty lovers. The Vintage Vamp palette by Charlotte Tilbury packs four buttery eyeshadows for £38. Two soft daytime shades plus a deep plum and glitter to smoke it out for the evening. The packaging is dinky enough for the handbag and there are many colour combos to choose from.
To really spoil your girl, I’d pair the palette above with one of the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks. Again, there’s a great selection of colours to suit all skin tones and the formulation is super comfy for all-day wear. They retail at £23 but a gift set of two bullets go for £42.
NARS is such a well-loved brand so it’s no surprise their limited edition face palette collab with photographer Steven Klein is seriously hot property over the holiday season. This One Shocking Moment Cheek Studio Palette retails at £49 and offers four gorgeous blushes, a contour shade, a highlight shade, and their best selling Laguna bronzer.
Here’s a beauty gift that’s just as nice as the high-end stuff but offers more value for money. It’s the Sending You Love gift set by Stila (£39) which includes an Eye Wonder eyeshadow palette, a Get Cheeky face palette, a Lip Glaze in the colour Guava and an eyeliner in Stingray.
All things fashion
This show-stopping number from Needle & Thread (the Coppelia Ballet Midi Dress, £130) features their signature beaded detailing and a super feminine cut that’s perfect for the party season. Unsurprisingly, the most popular size has sold out fast. If you can’t find the size you’re after, be sure to check out the rest of the collection on ASOS. I’m sure another piece will catch your eye!
I’ve got a similar but more affordable alternative for you with this ASOS Pleated Midi Dress In Geo Print which comes in at £60. The pastel hues are very on-trend and the wallet friendly price-tag is a big bonus in my books.
These Hydro Sandals by Dune are by far the most comfortable pair of heels I’ve ever owned. The barely-there style makes them super sexy and the heel height means they’re comfy enough for a night of dancing. My pair are jet black but I loved this duo-chrome purple version so much that I bought them for my sister last Christmas. Originally £69, but on sale at the moment for £48.
For the outdoorsy type, these Evedon Premium Bow Wellies from Joules are perfect for walking in the wet winter months. Priced at £79.95, they come in two colour combinations; black with a yellow bow (as pictured) and olive with a black bow. Very cute.
If the lady in your life loves collecting jewellery, I’d recommend this classic Mink Jewellery Box from Stackers. As the name suggests, the box is made up of stackable layers that can easily be customised as your collection grows. For £49.95, this set comes with 3 layers including a lidded top layer, a 25 compartment middle layer and a deep bottom layer for larger accessories like bangles and watches. There’s a nice selection of colours and sizes so it’s worth having a browse on their website before buying.
All things home & food
West Elm’s Gold Cube Terrarium (£44) is a fun way to bring nature into the home. Fill it with low maintenance succulents and ferns to make a perfect gift for a habitual plant killer.
This elegant Round Mirrored Tray from Zara Home (£29.99) was made for those who love entertaining. It adds a glamorous touch to a coffee table centerpiece and the metallic finish means it goes with pretty much everything.
Habitat’s Clarkson Brass Candelabra (£40) makes for an eye-catching tabletop display with a modern twist. Add white candlesticks for a touch of tradition or go black for an edgier vibe.
With festive notes of clove, pear, bergamot and nutmeg, this Clove Pomander candle from Voluspa (£30) smells divine and is made with coconut wax and a cotton wick for a clean, smoke-free burn. The pretty antique-finish glass jar is reusable once the candle’s been used up.
I love Hotel Chocolat for fancy chocolates…the company produces their own cacao which means they really know their stuff and the quality is top notch. For a chocoholic lady (or gent) who has it all and needs nothing, the Classic Cabinet (£50) would make a pretty OTT but awesome present. If I were given this, I’d totally keep the box for my jewellery after!
So there you have it. I hope you found this gift guide useful. If you did, do check out part 2: gifts for gents and part 3: gifts under £25, both coming up soon.
