I’ve been on the market for the perfect nude nail polish for a while now, especially with spring round the corner, and in the past it’s been tricky to find the right shade to suit my Indian skin tone. Sometimes what looks good in the bottle doesn’t look great once applied. But today I’ve found not one but three perfect nudes all in one go. Isn’t that always the way!
Barry M Mani Mask in Birthday Suit
The first (and probably my favourite) is the Mani Mask by Barry M in the shade Birthday Suit. Supposedly a nail treatment rather than a polish, which strengthens and conditions damaged nails, and ‘conceals with a semi matte colour finish’. My nails are naturally quite brittle so I love the sound of that. I can’t get over how polished this makes your nails look – excuse the pun. A proper grown up manicure that would be ideal for work (if you have a serious workplace). You can wear just one coat to let your natural nail colour peek through or layer it up for a more opaque finish. I’m wearing two coats here but because it dries down matte, I would add a clear top coat to finish.
Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint in Pit Stop
The second is the Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint, also by Barry M, in the shade Pit Stop. This ones a milky grey polish with lots of white and lavender in it. More of a statement (especially against darker skin) and with a youthful vibe. Each coat took about 10 minutes to dry on my nails which is good, especially if you’re as impatient as I am and usually end up smudging your manicure. Apply it in thin layers for best results. I’m wearing two coats below.
Maybelline Colour Show 60 Seconds nail polish in 232 (Rose Chic)
My last find is the Colour Show 60 Seconds nail polish by Maybelline in the shade 232, Rose Chic. Look. How. Sparkly! The formula is great; one coat gives good opaque coverage which is more than I can say for most glitter polishes I’ve tried in the past. The glitter in this is fine which helps deliver that even coverage, and also makes it fairly easy to remove, especially if you’ve only used one coat. This would be great for nights out, special occasions, sitting at home in your pajamas… whatever, it’s lovely! I’m wearing just one coat below but would recommend using a top coat over it to gloss and pep up the shimmer.
Seche Vite Top Coat
Speaking of which, I have to recommend the Seche Vite top coat which is hands down the best investment you could make to enhance your at-home manicures.
It makes your polish dry super quickly (it literally takes half the time), while also helping it stay glossy day after day without chipping. If you haven’t tried it before, go for it! Let me know what you think.
Lovely colour!
